Scott Gilly, DirectDep Founder & CEO
As the Founder and CEO of DirectDep, a cloud-based technology platform for law firm professionals to instantly book court reporters and related services for depositions in real- time, 24 hours a day, Scott Gilly is leading innovation that benefits everyone in the legal deposition marketplace. He is a former practicing lawyer with over 20 years of in-the- trenches litigation experience working with court reporters and other litigation support providers.
Previously, following his highly successful legal career at Morgan Lewis & Bockius and then his own law firm, Scott gained intensive tech start-up experience at Zya, Inc., a $40-million venture-backed technology start-up, where he served as General Counsel, Corporate Secretary and Head of Business Development. Scott also founded Cedar Hill Ventures, which incubates technology platforms targeting inefficiencies in mature industries as well as providing venture capital and consulting services to start-up and early growth stage companies.
Gilly earned his A.B. from Harvard University, where he was Captain of the Basketball Team. He received his J.D. from Catholic University, where he was Editor-in-Chief of the Law Review. He currently serves as Vice President on the Executive Committee of the Board of Managers of the Harvard Club of New York City. He is also an appointed College Director of the Harvard Alumni Association and is actively involved with the Friends of Harvard Basketball and the Harvard Varsity Club.
